WE DID IT!!!

(Daren 8/21) Ok, 2315 and 171.55, one of these numbers is the distance we traveled and the other is the sq footage of our traveling vehicle, yes, there have been times I wished the numbers were reversed and of course you know, we aren't driving around in one of those giant rvs. But we've done it, driven further and done more in the last 10 days than we usually do in 6 months, so we've compressed a lot of living into a small amount of time, and that's a good thing. One thing about being away from the race is how slowly time really can move, even when you're truckin' down the highway. A couple years ago, Jess talked me out of -talking us in to- selling all and buying a big sailboat and going Jimmy Buffett Style....that and an episode or 2 of "I Shouldn't Be Alive". So, the next best thing was....an RV, yeah Clark a reeeeal RV. Of course you who know me well can't imagine me driving anything else, but in reality, it's the last thing i ever thought I'd get myself into. But, this little "ship" of ours has been our home away from home and has proven to be quite roadworthy and a place to change the dirty diapers and sock the kids away without disturbing our other camping neighbors. So, Jessie and I are converts so to speak, yes maybe we'll even be RV Missionaries, driving around and bestowing the virtues of RVing to young people...uhhhhh, don’t think so. The RV, or “Arvey” as the kids have come to call it, she, or he, has been, well, really awesome to travel in… Ok, enough rambling… here’s the facts- Columbus Zoo, Niagara Falls, Thousand Islands NY/CA, Quebec City, and Gaspesie, 5 highlights in 10 days, across 6 states, 2 Great Lakes, and 2 Canadian Provinces, you can do this people! We have had an awesome time and for all of those suffering the heat of the south, well…yeah it was hot in Quebec City, 89-90, but, we are seeing our breath up here in Gaspe, 49 at nite and 72 during the day, that’s natural AC folks…No electricity! We’re at Dan’s Campground “Tete de’ Indien” meaning Head of the Indian…and not that there’s one stuck on a stake outside the gate, it’s a natural rock formation that crashed into the ocean and looks just like an Indian’s Head. (opportunity for dirty joke being suppressed by censorship here, but my male friends can use their imaginations) Tomorrow, Dan’s cooking us lobster (Jess can’t wait) and we’re staying put for the first time in 10 days, ( I can’t wait). We’re loaded down with Beer, Wine, Tequila, Steaks, Fresh Salmon, Smoked Mackerel, and T.I.M.E., and I can’t wait to devour it all… enjoy the pics…!
